ELV Operative

About our opportunity:

The End of Life Vehicle Operative is a very important role in EMR, responsible for handling and processing End of Life vehicles safely and compliantly whilst providing excellent customer service and managing stocks efficiently.

What you will be doing:

  • Although experience would be preferred a brilliant attitude is more important as EMR will fully train you in all aspects of ELV operations including FLT licence, small tools and vehicle depollution. 

  • As an ELV operative you will greet and interact with customers at the ELV drop off areas and inspect the vehicles. 

  • You will be trained in using the mobile tablet device to update information.

  • You will have responsibility for storing all commodities removed from vehicles in the correct manner including: Batteries, wheels, cats 

  • We want you to strive to achieve team daily targets on the number of vehicles per day to be depolluted.  

  • You will eventually be able to carry out accurate valuations of catalytic converters with training to be provided.  

  • You and the ELV team will always maintain good housekeeping standards so that the ELV building and surrounding areas are kept clean and tidy.

About you:

  • Mechanical knowledge or experience would be beneficial but not essential
  • FLT experience preferable
  • Ability to use a hand held portable tablet for recording information
  • Previous car mechanic experience would be beneficial but not essential
