Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About our opportunity:

To supply Mechanical Engineering support at Emr

What you will be doing:

  1. Promoting a positive Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental culture throughout the business.
  2. Conduct and provide guidance and support in the development of risk analysis, developing SOP’s and improvement plans.
  3. Attend sites for proactive and reactive work within the area as required.
  4.  Pro-active during machinery maintenance and repair.
  5. Implement Root Cause Analysis (RCA) approach to eliminate repeat issues and contribute to medium and long term plans.
  6. Provide direction to the operational team.
  7. Maintain critical spares levels for routine maintenance.
  8. Troubleshoot and drive shared learnings to improve performance across Emr.
  9. Liaise with and manage contractors to ensure correct RAMS are in place prior to work commencement and adhered to during work.
  10. Work with suppliers to ensure the best quality, service and cost.
  11. Keep all documentation up to date on the CMMS system.
  12. Attend training as required to keep within legislation and up to date knowledge.
  13. Work as part of a team to complete scheduled blade changes on shears.
  14. Work as part of a team to complete scheduled work on balers and shears.
  15. Assist in completion of any remedial work highlighted from AC/PPM.
  16. Complete all PPM tasks scheduled.
  17. Provide proactive and reactive engineering support to all EMR sites in designated region.

About you:

  1. A nationally recognised mechanical / fabrication or electrical time served apprenticeship minimum level 3
  2. Maintenance experience in a  heavy engineering environment
  3. H&S qualification equivalent to IOSH Managing safely
  4. First principles relating to the operation and maintenance of appropriate plant and equipment
  5. Maintenance and operational practices, processes and procedures covering a range of plant and equipment
