About our opportunity:

As a “Vehicle Dismantler” you will work as part of the UK ELV Parts & Dismantling Unit within EMR to dismantle “Automotive Green Parts” from vehicles purchased by the company with the aim of delivering additional margin from EMR ELV channels that include  recycling and selling “Green Parts” for reuse to the UK trade, consumer, insurance, export and core markets

What you will be doing:

  • Work as part of the UK ELV team to develop, deliver and support an integrated business process that will enable EMR to release additional ELV margin over and above conventional recycling of fluids, tyres, batteries, wheels, convertors and depolluted car shells;
  • Dismantle “Automotive Green Parts” that have been identified by the company for recycling and reuse.
  • Quality control (QC) all dismantled parts to ensure they comply with market service level agreements (SLAs) set out by our customers
  • Ensure all parts removed are tagged for compliance, stock control and customer identification
  • Dismantle “High Valued” scrap parts to maximise their potential material revenues
  • Research & develop (R&D) the materials within ELV’s to build a “Working Bible” that will empower the company to buy ELV’s at the right price
  • Develop, train and support an effective and highly motivated “Hybrid Vehicle Dismantling Team”.
  • Support all areas of the UK ELV Business Unit during peak times and holiday periods.
  • Ensure that the activities undertaken in full compliance with existing SOPs and that Health and Safety requirements are paramount.

About you:

Essential 

  • A proven track record in the UK automotive industry
  • A proven knowledge of vehicles and their parts
  • Experience of automotive dismantling or mechanics
  • A professional attitude with good communication skills
  • A self-starter with the ability to work on their own or as part of a team
  • The ability to identify vehicles by Make, Model and Year

Desirable

  • Experience within the vehicle recycling industry
  • Confident in literacy and numeracy
  • Experience in building and developing teams
